Me. Being inappropriate. At a job interview.

Interviewer (gray-haired, liney-faced, concerned Republican principal):

"What kinds of responsibilities, outside the school, do you think teachers have in their communities?"

[Weighty pause.]

Me:

"Well . . . above all, teachers are role models. So you can't just throw on a tube-top and go down to buy a keg at the local 7-11 without considering who you might meet in line at the register. You know?"

Thanks. The poor man had no idea how to react. He just sat stunned for a moment, and then carried on with the interview. I hope I'll make it in a system like this... it's pretty humorless, and you know how I get.

Have been meaning to call you to catch up... haven't seen you since Joey. I want to ask if you're interested in designing a smallish tattoo of the east and west winds for me. I'd pay you an' all of course, if'n you wanted to do it. :)
We should get some La Roca and schmooze. It's been a while since I've seen you guys. I'd better get in touch before the next round of chaos ensues.
